You can book travel permits through them or direct from Uganda Wildlife Authority. Though it’s better to book with tour operators because for them they can even help you in planning for a trip and also helping you in booking good accommodation facilities.
Once you have confirmed your trip, Nature Adventure Africa Safari advises you to inbox them through email or WhatsApp so that they can be able to check for availability since these permits are at high demand especially during the peak season of months January, February, June, July, August, November and December. Once there is availability, they will send you an invoice so that you can make payments. The gorilla permits cost as low as US$800 dollars as compared to Rwanda. It is more advisable to book for gorilla permits at least 2-3 months before the date of your trip since they are at high demand. The safari took me through the misty forests of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the southwestern of Uganda which is famously known for harboring the highest number of mountain gorillas. During this safari I got an opportunity of spending time with gorillas in their natural habitat. This Uganda gorilla safari trip also took me through Queen Elizabeth where I spotted animals like climbing lions, buffaloes, elephants, bush bucks, leopards among others during the game drive and boat cruise on Kazinga channel.
On my arrival day at the Entebbe International Airport, I was picked up by the driver to embark on my journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and we had an enroute stopover at the Equator to have some refreshments and also taking some pictures together with my driver- guide. Later we continued to Mbarara at Igongo cultural center to have our lunch. After lunch, we proceeded to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Since we arrived in the evening, I just checked in Buhoma lodge for relaxation and dinner.
The following day after having my breakfast, I was picked by the driver guide to go in jungle to start searching for mountain gorillas. Reaching at the headquarters, we started with a briefing about the rules and regulations to be followed during trekking and here we were divided in groups of 8 members and each group was allocated to a habituated gorilla family.
During trekking, we also saw other primate species such as black and white colobus monkey and also the bird species. It took us about 3-4 hours to come close to these giants and we found some of them feeding their young ones and others were eating leaves.
We were given one hour of observing their habits and behaviors and also watching them while feeding. We took some pictures and videos in order to create unforgettable memories. I ate my packed lunch I came with from the hotel and then relaxed for some minutes. After lunch, we went for the Batwa cultural experience where we interacted with the local people and they also told us stories on how they used to live in the forest. We got to learn about their culture, their lifestyle and they taught us on how they make beer out of bananas and later returned back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
The next morning after having breakfast, I checked out the lodge and I was transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park through the Ishasha sector where I spotted the climbing lions and some bird species. Reaching Queen Elizabeth National Park, I checked in Mweya safari lodge for lunch. After lunch I went for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel where I got an opportunity of seeing crocodiles and hippos. After the activity I returned back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
After taking breakfast, I went for an early morning game drive in Kasenyi plains. Early game drives are so interesting because you can find when the animals are still sun bathing when they have not yet set off for hunting. I spotted wildlife animals such as elephants, lions, leopards and some bird species. After I went back in the lodge for lunch and relaxing as I prepare the next morning journey back to Kampala.
The next morning, I checked out of the lodge and I was transferred back to Kampala by having a game drive through the park where I spotted animals such as Uganda Kobs, elephants, buffaloes among others. I had an enroute lunch on the way and after some minutes I was dropped to the Entebbe International Airport to catch up with my flight.
