Timau River Lodge is situated on the forested slopes of Mt Kenya, a wonderfully offbeat place, consisting of several lovely thatched cottages of varying sizes and a well-equipped campsite with a large covered cooking area.
Timau River Lodge has camping sites as well as bandas built of cedar logs sleeping 2-4 people.
Timau River Lodge Accommodation consists of 7 Budget Bandas/Cabins each with two beds, Main house rooms that accommodate 20 Guests, 13 Cottage rooms that can accommodate 20 Guests, Tents and bedding that can accommodate a total of 80 Guests.
Timau River Lodge has a restaurant specializing in Indian cuisine including Indian curries and vegetarian meals. There is a bar with fireplace and pool table, electricity is provided by a generator from kerosene lamps are available at other times.
Timau River Lodge offering all-inclusive treks up Mount Kenya on the rarely used Timau route, the lodge also offers camel treks, cultural visits nature walks, bird watching, trout fishing and safaris to Ol Pejeta conservancy (minimum two people). There is a good chance of seeing Elephants and other wildlife.
